Witnessed two UFOs in broad daylight

Witnessed two UFOs in broad daylight with commercial plane on a collision course.
(Mid 1950s Lutwyche, Brisbane, Queensland)

History:

Sometime mid-morning, while coming out of a hardware store on Lutwyche Road, opposite Lutwyche Shopping Centre, I heard a plane take off from Eagle Farm Airport and watched i climb steeply toward a blue sky. To my amazement I noticed high above where the plane was heading, two large goldy looking disc shaped UFOs. I asked myself “Does the pilot realise what is above him?”), when a sudden shudder was noticed in both discs with an instant later moving with unearthly speed Northward in the direction of the Sunshine Coast in a manner of seconds being out of sight. I have never seen anything like that ever again.

I was born in Amsterdam and moved with my family to Australia in 1951. We travelled by boat called De Groote Beer (a Liberty ship) for six weeks and arrived I Sydney three weeks before my birthday. We first stayed in a facility camp in Bathurst in NSW and were later transferred to Creta Camp just outside Maitland where I went to school. I was the only one able to speak English. I was 16 years old. When my father managed to get employment in Brisbane we moved to Sandgate (4 th Avenue), Shorncliffe (Sansui Flats), Baskerville Street, Brighton, Bebbington Street, Zillmere and Serviceton Ave, Inala. It is during our stay in Inala that my father asked me to help him paint houses. We made our own paint with Linseed Oil and Titanium Dioxide with a touch of Copper Sulphate. He claimed the paint would last for twenty years. It was during that time, the UFO incident occurred. I was getting some brushed and terps for him. It must have been early winter time around 10.00am as it started to get cold with him painting in the sunny positions and I being relegated to the shady parts. Before taking up painting, I worked as a builder’s labourer, an apprentice optical mechanic at Arthur Cocks Optician, bottom of Edward Street and learned the then current definition of light “Light is due to vibrations, set up in the luminiferous ETHER by the molecular agitations of an incandescent body”. I was then already active as an amateur astronomer and telescope maker and had ground my own parabolic mirror. Other places of employment were Luya Julius in Eagle Street and Drug Houses of Australia in Charlotte Street. In 1958 I returned to The Netherlands for a holiday, having worked for DHA for a number of years, and was drafted into Dutch National Service the moment I entered the country. On my return I naturalised as an Australian Citizen.

The UFO Incident (what I remember):

  1. Going to the hardware store to buy some goods for our painting business and looking up into the blue sky and hearing a rising plane.
  2. It was a small plane with two propellors, rising from the location of Eagle Farm airport and moving North ward sort of midway between Eagle Farm and Lutwyche Road. The hardware store was on the Western side of Lutwyche Road. Diagonally across was the location of a Telecom building and directly across a small street.
  3. Somewhere above the rising plane I could see two large discs which were of a golden metallic appearance relatively close to one another a diameter apart and orientated approximately East West. They were motionless. Perhaps at least 50 meters in diameter. I was looking up at these discs into their bottoms. It was obvious that the pilot of the small plane had no idea what was above him and most likely out of his sight.
  4. As the plane got ever closer as it rose, I asked myself if there was a chance of a collision between the plane and one or both of the discs. I need not have asked.
  5. Very soon as the plane headed for a collision, there was a sudden shudder in both discs and immediately followed by flight of the two discs away to the North and disappearing out of sight over the buildings of Virginia and Geebung within the space of two or three seconds. I immediately realised that there was no technology on Earth that was capable of such speed.

Other things that I remember equally vivid:

  1. Our family purchasing an Armstrong Siddely sedan with a pre-selector gearbox on the steering wheel for 25 pounds from a Virginia service station on Sandgate Road and missing out on a Rolls Royce for 50 pounds. One day my father wanted to know what would happen if we go from forward to reverse and then step on the clutch. The whole gearbox was destroyed.
  2. Being asked by DHA management to run an errand to their warehouse on Montague Road and finding a 44-gallon drum of ‘Opium Turk’ standing unattended on the nature strip. I told them inside to place it in a secure place immediately.
  3. I decided one day to walk to a girl friend who lived in Fruitgrove and also worked for DHA all the way from Inala. I only managed to get halfway near Coopers Plains when I was picked up by a number of detectives as some one had identified me as someone who had walked past after some incident. I spent hours with the police officers in their vehicle, until the realised that I was not involved at all.
  4. I also walked all the way from Baskerville Street, Brighton and back to the dog pound at Yeronga for a small dog some years earlier. Off course there are many more things I can remember from those years and much earlier but I do not wish to make this UFO declaration too long.

Comment:

I have a habit to keep strictly to the facts and do not embrace ‘belief systems’ I either know something or I do not, or I can do something or I cannot. here is no in-between!

This attitude is evidenced by some 30 odd scientific and technical papers which I have written in the last decade or so and published on my website: hanslarooresearch.com
